The Royal Abbey

Through seven centuries of history, the Chaalis Royal Abbey presents the ruins of the abbey from the thirteenth century, St. Mary's chapel decorated with frescoes of the sixteenth century, the huge park, the beautiful rose garden and ponds.

The museum

In 1902 Nélie Jacquemart, widow of banker Edouard André, acquires the domain of Chaalis and have exposed some of her outstanding works of art, the other part being presented in her Paris hotel in Boulevard Haussmann that later became the second Jacquemart-André museum.
